Abel Camara Completes Arema FC’s Foreign Player Quota

AREMA FC has finally announced the last foreign players to be recruited for Liga 1 2022-2023. Singo Edan signs Bissau-Guinea striker Abel Camara.

Camara replaces the role of Carlos Fortes who left for PSIS Semarang. The arrival of the 32-year-old player made Arema FC more confident looking at League 1.

“The squad is complete. It’s time for the team to be more mature to go to the battlefield in the League 1 competition,” said Arema FC president, Gilang Widya Pramana.

The joining of Camara completes the quota of Arema FC foreign players. Previously, Eduardo Almeida’s troops had already hooked Sergio Silva, Adilson Maringa, and Renshi Yamaguchi.

The introduction of the four Arema FC foreign players is a little different and unique through video. The creative team found it in the game FIFA 2022 which was later used as Camara’s introduction material.

Camara most likely made his debut when Arema FC faced Barito Putera in the quarter-finals of the 2022 President’s Cup. The match was held at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Saturday (2/7).

The name Camara has been registered by Arema FC for the 2022 President’s Cup. The former Cremonese player will use the number 29 jersey. “Abel Camara not only made an agreement, but also has a commitment to become a Singo Mad fighter,” said the man who is familiarly called Juragan99.

Strengthening Arema FC is a new experience for Camara. Most of his career was spent defending a number of clubs in Portugal. last season, Camara played for Belenenses SAD. He scored five goals and two assists in 32 games he played in all competitions. (Goal/OL-15)
