AC Milan and Lazio Compete for Casale

Two Serie A clubs AC Milan and Lazio are reportedly competing for Hellas Verona centre-back Nicolo Casale in the transfer market next summer.

Quoted from football-italy, Wednesday (16/3), in the January transfer window, both AC Milan and Lazio had contacted Hellas Verona for Casale, but I Mastini was reluctant to sell the 24-year-old player.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Hellas Verona has no intention of losing Casale during the season and has told both clubs to return in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan are known to need to strengthen their defence, while Lazio have been targeting Casale for a long time and believe he is the right choice to run Maurizio Sarri’s system.

Lazio are said to have tried to strike a deal with Casale in the summer transfer window, despite only getting the Italian on loan.

Even so, this plan did not come to fruition, leaving them empty-handed. Lazio will try again in the next few months, but will have to fight competition from AC Milan.

Casale is a player who has defended Hellas Verona since his age group and joined the senior team in July 2017 and was loaned to several clubs such as Perugia, Prato, Sudtirol and Empoli.

During defending Hellas Verona this season, Casale recorded 1,834 minutes playing from 26 appearances and was able to create one assist. (Ant/OL-1)
