Lionel Messi has stated that at this time he has not been able to make a decision about his future with the Argentine national team. The Tango Team captain said he would only think about it after the 2022 World Cup.
This was said by Messi after bringing Argentina to a 3-0 victory over Venezuela in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the Latin America zone. Argentina has already made sure of qualifying for the finals in Qatar later this year.
“I only think about what we will face next, which is facing Ecuador and Vanezuela in the qualifiers. After the World Cup, I will only think about many things, whether it will go well or bad,” explained the 34-year-old player.
He said he was happy to be in the Argentine national team. Especially after Argentina won the last Copa America title.
“Everything flows as it is. Winning makes everything better and easier,” he added.
Throughout his uniform with the Argentine national team, Messi has only once brought his country to victory, namely in the 2021 Copa America. While at the World Cup, Messi has not even been able to lift the championship trophy.
This season, Messi’s appearance is far from expectations. Since joining PSG after leaving Barcelona, the player nicknamed La Pulga has not been able to show his best performance. (Goal.com/OL-15)
