Angga Dwi Wins Men Elite Tour Class of Kemala Belitong 2022


The grand cycling event “Tour of Kemala Belitong 2022” in collaboration with the board of the Indonesian Sports Bike Association (PB ISSI) was held in Belitung, for two consecutive days, Saturday-Sunday (17-18 September 2022). Hundreds of national and international racers showed off their teeth.

According to Winny Agung Budi Maryoto, Chairman of the Tour of Kemala Belitong 2022 Committee, on the first day, the 125 km Bicycle Race category was held, which was attended by 270 participants.

Among the participants, there were three participants from the Philippines and three participants from Malaysia. The first start started from About Kopi Black Rocks Belitung, then participants pedaled their bicycles through the downhill road and several inclines, with very challenging road contours.

The assessment follows international standards and is `registered to Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) so that participating athletes can get points. The total prizes up for grabs are IDR 460 million for the Bicyele 125 KM category.

Winny said, by carrying the tagline Synergize for the Nation, This event is also a way to promote the natural beauty of Indonesia as well as to stimulate the economic activities of local MSME actors and become a forum for social service activities.

It is targeted that there will be a circulation of hundreds of millions of money that can be obtained by small and medium micro-enterprises (MSMEs).

“So, in addition to cycling to find seeds for national athletes, we also encourage the revival of community spirit after facing many challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Winny with Juliati Sigit Prabowo, wife of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

“Dozens of MSMEs were also present to enliven this event. We collaborate with the local community to improve the local economy,” said Winny.

PB ISSI projects an annual agenda

Secretary General of PB ISSI, Parama Nugroho, Tour of Kemala is projected to be an annual activity agenda to be carried out in various parts of Indonesia with the support of PB ISSI. The event also aims to increase the love of cycling and to find seeds for national cycling athletes through the categories race.

“This is a place to measure athletes well, to get to the finish is really a struggle for athletes. You could say this is a kind of try out for athletes before entering the national cycling championship,” he said.

In category Bicycle Race 125 km, there are several sub categories namely, Men Elite uFor those aged 19 and over, Angga Dwi Wahyu Prahesta won with a travel time of 2 hours 58 minutes for a distance of 125 KM and the second winner was Berley Octavian Nugroho, who narrowly lost to Angga.

Meanwhile, on the second day, Sunday (18/9), there will be a bicycle race for the touring category with a distance of 56 km with a total prize of Rp. 118 million in this category. (RO/OL-09)
