NAPOLI bagged three points in a narrow 2-1 win at Hellas Verona in the 29th week of Serie A at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, Sunday (13/3) night WIB.
Victor Osimhen inspired Napoli’s win with two goals, while Davide Faraoni’s counter-goal for Verona.
The result returned Napoli to winning ways after being silenced by AC Milan 0-1 last week. The additional three points made Il Partenopei return to second place in the Serie A standings after packing 60 points from 29 matches.

I Partenopei are now only three points away from AC Milan at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Verona is ranked ninth with 41 points from 29 matches.
Napoli immediately opened the scoring when the game lasted only 14 minutes. Starting from a throw-in, Matteo Politano attacked from the right flank then sent a cross in front of Lorenzo Montipo’s goal which was completed with a powerful Osimhen header. Napoli lead 1-0 over the home team.
Napoli’s next goal was created in the 72nd minute. Osimhen again listed his name on the scoreboard.
Starting from a throw-in, Giovanni Di Lorenzo launched a quick attack and penetrated Verona’s defense from the right. He then crossed for Osimhen, who finished with a right-footed effort from the front of the box. The position is 2-0.
Five minutes later, Verona scored a goal back. A slick cooperation on the left side of the penalty box ended by Adrien Tameze with a cross. Faraoni jumped and headed the ball into the top corner which David Ospina couldn’t stop. The score is now 1-2.
Verona tried to score an equalizer in the remaining matches, but Napoli were able to maintain their lead and the match ended with the score 2-1. (Ant/OL-1)
