The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Tuesday (15/3) rejected the Russian club’s appeal against the UEFA competition ban imposed as a result of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
“CAS has decided that the suspension remains in effect and that the national team and all clubs from Russia are prohibited from taking part in UEFA competitions,” CAS said in a statement.

The decision means Spartak Moscow will not be able to play in the Europa League while the Russian women’s national team will be banned from playing at the 2022 European Cup to be played in England.
CAS also said it would take a decision on the Russian Football Association’s appeal against FIFA’s decision to kick them out of the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs this weekend. (AFP/OL-1)
