Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could make his England debut after being called-in by head coach Gareth Southgate.
This is Guehi’s first call-up to the England national team that Southgate announced on Thursday (17/3) as the squad for the international match window preparation next weekend.
England are scheduled to have two friendlies at Wembley against Switzerland on Saturday (26/3) before meeting Ivory Coast three days later at the same venue.
Two Manchester United players, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, who usually become regulars this time were not called up by Southgate, which of course could not be separated from the Red Devils’ disorganized performance.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s experienced full-back Kyle Walker has also been left out of the England squad this time around.
Guehi’s teammate at Palace, Connor Gallagher got the opportunity to join the England squad after relatively consistent performances at his club.
AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham has also been called up by Southgate to strengthen the England squad following his prolific form under Jose Mourinho.
