Defeat Leicester, Arsenal Up To Fourth

ARSENAL return to the top four of the Premier League table after goals from Thomas Partey and Alexandre
Lacazette led them to a 2-0 win at home to Leicester City, Monday (14/3) early morning WIB.

The victory makes the Gunners one point ahead of Manchester United. But, most importantly, Mikel Arteta’s side have saved three games more than their opponents so they have a great chance of finishing in the Champions League zone.

Partey put Arsenal ahead in the 11th minute with a header at Leicester’s near post following Gabriel Martinelli’s corner which was not well blocked by the Foxes’ frail defence.

Arsenal’s second goal came after Kasper Schmeichel parried Martin Odegaard’s free kick but the rebound which was met by Partey’s header was cleared by Luke Thomas.

However, video replays showed Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu holding out his hand towards Partey’s header and after reviewing the monitor, referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot. Lacazette successfully carried out his duties as the executioner of the penalty kick. Arsenal also won with a score of 2-0. (Ant/OL-1)
