Dortmund signs Haaland to move to Man City next season

Borussia Dortmund adviser Matthias Sammer has hinted that Erling Haaland will join English Premier League side Manchester City this summer.

Speaking during a TV show on Amazon Prime, Sammer said the Norway forward would play under Pep Guardiola.

Co-host Mario Gomez initially stated that he would be delighted to see Guardiola and Haaland working together.

“They will both be mutually beneficial. Because Pep, of course has certain ideas. I can also imagine him dealing with the center forward, no doubt. However, he will do it and also have to learn from the center forward,” said Sammer quoted by Goal on Thursday (27

However, the Dortmund legend insists he still doesn’t know if a Haaland transfer deal has been reached.

“I don’t know if an agreement has been reached. I am completely focused on this match (Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid).”

“I didn’t hear anything today, yesterday, the day before yesterday. I know City are after him. His value surprises me!”

Manchester City have been rumored to be the frontrunners for Haaland’s signature over the past few weeks.

Barcelona and a number of top European clubs are also interested in the services of the 21-year-old striker, while Real Madrid are certainly trying to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester City are in dire need of a traditional striker after failing to land Harry Kane last summer.

German media BILD reported on March 16 that Haaland is now ready to join City and that his Dortmund career is almost over. (OL-8)
