Eriksen ready to fight for Denmark against Serbia in Copenhagen

Remember Christian Eriksen, the Danish national team player who suffered a heart attack at the European Cup last year? Saturday (26/3), yesterday, he grazed again. Even though his team lost 2-4 to the Netherlands, he still received a standing ovation from the audience. Moreover, in that match, the 30-year-old also contributed a goal for his team through a hard kick into the top corner of the host goal.

Eriksen said the goal was the “perfect” way to mark his return to the field after a long absence. He also can’t wait to return to the Parken Stadium, in the Danish capital, to face Serbia in an international friendly on Tuesday (29/3).

Last year, at the stadium located in Copenhagen, Eriksen lay unconscious and almost lost his life due to a heart attack when Denmrak faced Finland.

“It’s going to be even more special. Today was just a warm-up for Tuesday when I’ll be running in the exact spot where it happened.” he told a Danish TV station channel 5, Saturday

Eriksen shined with Premier League club Brentford after leaving contract from Inter Milan in January. Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand, said Eriksen would be in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s match. “I didn’t think he could be so good this fast,” Hjulmand told Danish reporters. “He runs without difficulty and he brings rhythm to the game. He is very calm. I really appreciate watching him play.” (AFP/M-4)
