Fulham coach says victory over Villa is very important


Fulham coach Marco Silva said the 3-0 win over Aston Villa was important for his team in their journey in the Premier League this season.

Playing at Craven Cottage, London, Friday (21/10) early morning WIB, in the 12th week of the Premier League, Fulham were able to lock the victory thanks to goals from Harrison Reed, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and an own goal from Tyrone Mings.

“We knew it was very important for us to win and keep a clean sheet, our first at home this season,” said Marco Silva, quoted from the club’s official website, Friday (21/10).

“This is something we talked about. Finally we got the first clean sheet, and when it happened with a 3-0 win at home, I can say it was the perfect night for us.”

The Portuguese coach continued, his team was dominant in this match and deserved to get the three points and Fulham showed an outstanding performance.

“The first half we were at the top level in my opinion. How we played, how we created chances, how we dominated, how the players played under our plan. We planned something, they understood and performed very well,” explained Silva.

Thanks to this victory, Fulham moved up to 9th place in the English Premier League standings with 15 points from 11 matches, while Aston Villa are in 17th position with 9 points.

Furthermore, in the 13th week of the English Premier League, Fulham will travel to Leeds United headquarters at Elland Road Stadium, Leeds, Sunday (23/10). (Ant/OL-1)
