Gareth Bale Closes to Cardiff City

Striker Gareth Bale is reportedly getting closer to joining English Championship side Cardiff City in the upcoming transfer window after confirming recently that he will leave La Liga side Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of June.

Quoted from football-espana, Tuesday, based on a BBC Sport report, Cardiff City are at the forefront of securing the services of Bale for next season.

It is thought Bale will sign a short-term contract with Cardiff City and he will consider retiring from football after guiding Wales to the World Cup or at the end of the 2022/23 season.

After successfully guiding Wales to the 2022 World Cup finals after beating Ukraine 1-0, Bale said he would delay his retirement for a while because he received an offer from a club believed to be Cardiff City.

Bale is now expected to rest in the coming weeks before making a decision on his future at Cardiff City.

Previously, Gareth Bale was often rumored to be returning to defend his former club Tottenham Hotspur or continuing his career in the United States football league (MLS).

The 32-year-old started his career in Southampton’s youth team before deciding to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2007.

After six years of a stellar career with Tottenham, Bale moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee of IDR 1.4 trillion.

During his time with Madrid, the Welshman played in 258 games and contributed 106 goals and 67 assists for Los Blancos. He also won four Champions League titles, two Spanish Leagues and three Spanish King’s Cups. (Ant/OL-12)
