Hyundai Indonesia has shown little by little their newest Low Multi Purpose Vehicle (LMPV) model, the Stargazer. Indeed, Hyundai has not publicly provided information about this one family car until the day of its launch. However, predictions of the selling price of South Korean cars often come to the fore.
In detikOto’s search, based on the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB), there are six variants of the Hyundai Stargazer, with automatic and manual transmission options.
Regarding the price, the NJKB starts from Rp. 155 million to the highest type of Rp. 202 million. However, this price has not been subject to other taxes such as PPnBM, VAT, and BBNKB. If this is true, the price offered by the Hyundai Stargazer will be slightly different from the Toyota All New Avanza.
Because based on the official Toyota website, the All New Avanza is currently offered in 2 variants, namely the Toyota All New Avanza Type E at a price of Rp. 233.100.000 and Type G Rp. 255.100.000. In addition, Toyota also provides other options for the Toyota All New Veloz with 3 types, namely the All New Veloz Type MT at a price of IDR 286,000,000, Veloz Q CVT for IDR 309,100,000 and Veloz Q CVT TSS for IDR 331.100.000.
If based on available data, the Hyundai Stargazer seems to be playing in the LMPV segment which is already inhabited by the All New Avanza, Daihatsu All New Xenia, Suzuki All New Ertiga, Mitsubishi New Xpander, Wuling New Confero S and Wuling New Cortez, Nissan All New Livina, and Honda New Mobilio.
After 2 years, the Indonesian people finally get a special Eid gift in 2022, with the issuance of a government permit to travel homecoming. Even so, the presence of the Hyundai Stargazer is interesting to observe, naturally because the Hyundai LMPV car is the newest product which is claimed to bring various refreshments to further pamper the rider. However, this cannot be confirmed until the day of its introduction.
Moreover, until this moment, Toyota can be said to still be the ruler of the LMPV segment in Indonesia. This year, until May 2022, the sales of the Toyota Avanza are the most in the low MPV class.
During the first five months of 2022, sales of the Toyota Avanza reached 19,164 units. This is wholesale sales or distribution from factories to dealers in data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo).
Next, the second best-selling low MPV is the Toyota Veloz. The Avanza twins sold 16,661 units. Then in third place is the Mitsubishi Xpander with 13,204 units.
