Hyundai’s first SUV produced by Indonesia also greeted the Land of the White Elephant, Thailand. It is Creta that seems to have been prepared by Hyundai to fill the ASEAN automotive market.
As in Indonesia, Thailand will get the second generation Hyundai Creta. Quoting Headlight Magazine, the futuristic design of the Hyundai Creta which was prepared to attract the Indonesian people with the Parametric Jewel grille was also embedded in Thailand. The design was inspired by another Hyundai SUV, the Tucson.
This means that the LED DRLs are hidden behind the grille and the LED headlights are separate. These LED headlights are located in the lower front corner of the right and left sides.
The rest there are no significant differences with those sold today. In terms of design, the Hyundai Creta in Thailand doesn’t get a silver skirt like it does in Indonesia.
The Hyundai Creta, which is exported to Thailand, also gets entertainment via a 7-inch touch screen. The size of the entertainment screen is smaller than the Indian version which reaches 10.25 inches.

Some unique features such as Powered Driver Seat, Front Seat Ventilation, and Air Purifier are also absent on the Hyundai Creta in Thailand. Then for safety features, the Bekasi factory-assembled SUV is equipped with 6 airbags, Stability Control, and Hyundai SmartSense.
The features in the Hyundai SmartSense include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Centering Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring with Collision Avoidance, and Door Opening Warning.
Under the hood is a 1.5 L Gamma II engine that is capable of producing 115 PS of power at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a choice of CVT or Intelligent Variable Transmission. There is no option for a six-speed manual transmission like in Indonesia and India.
There are only two Creta variants offered in Thailand namely the SE and SEL. The cheapest Creta price tag is sold at 949,000 baht or the equivalent of Rp. 404 million to the highest of 999,000 baht or Rp. 425 million.
