The Indonesian Amputation Team made history by qualifying for the final round of the 2022 Amputation World Cup after winning two wins and one defeat in the qualifiers.

In the first match, Indonesia managed to beat Bangladesh 8-0, then beat Malaysia 3-0 before losing 0-2 to Japan in the last match. These results made Muhammad Syafei’s squad finish second with six points, and automatically qualify for the 2022 World Cup with Japan.

The 2022 Amputation World Cup will be held in Turkey in October. The Public Relations and Media Committee of the Indonesian Amputation Football Association (PSAI) Vicente Mariano expressed this happiness and asked the public to give more appreciation.

“This is a proof that the presence of PSAI with its Garuda INAF national team has the right to get appreciation from the Indonesian government, be it the President or the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” said Vicente.

“Moreover, seeing PSAI’s fighting power for five years without getting the support and attention of the government. But we were able to show achievements by qualifying and will appear in the World Cup in Turkey. We hope that this success can be a color, motivation and inspiration for PSSI and the Garuda national team ,” he explained.
