The Indonesian cerebral palsy (CP) soccer team advanced to the final of the XI 2022 ASEAN Para Games (APG) and will face Thailand.
The certainty was obtained by Anshar Ahmad’s team after Wednesday (3/8) afternoon’s semifinals again rolled Cambodia with a score of 9-2 at the Sebelas Maret University Stadium, Surakarta, Central Java.
The day before, Indonesia also shaved Cambodia with a landslide score of 7-1. Meanwhile, Thailand, which will be faced in the final, beat Myanmar 5-0 in this morning’s match.

The coach of the Indonesian CP soccer team, Anshar Ahmad, said the big victory over Cambodia in the semifinal match was like entertainment. According to him, the Cambodians look like they are running out of stamina.
“I told the boys not to push too hard into scoring goals against Cambodia. The actual winning score could have been more than that, and the players followed my instructions to save energy,” Anshar said after the game.
The order not to push goals against Cambodia, as well as an effort to avoid injury to the players for the gold medal match later.
This is important so that Indonesia can prepare its full strength in the final against Thailand on Friday (5/8). The White Elephant Country team in the preliminary round did surrender to the host, but with a thin score of 2-3.
Overall, in the semifinal match, the Red and White team was superior to Cambodia. Cahyana scored four goals, Yahya Hernanda and Efi Yikwa each scored two goals, and the last goal came from substitute Ahmad Yuliarsi.
