Inzaghi demands Inter Milan to work harder to defend Scudetto

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi asked his team to do more to defend the Serie A scudetto title after being held to a 1-1 draw with Torino in week 29 at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, Sunday (13/3) evening local time.

Quoted from football-italy, Monday (14/3), Inzaghi said they had to apply a different approach from the match against Torino in the next match, although there were several reasons.

“We know that in order to win the Scudetto again, we have to do more and take a different approach to matches, even if there are several reasons,” explained Inzaghi.

The Italian coach continued to say, this season, Inter lost some energy and players in crucial moments, but this cannot be used as an excuse.

Inzaghi explained they need to do better and that at the moment they have 10 games left in Serie A as well as the second leg of the Coppa Italia, they must recover their strength and do as well as they can.

“We lost energy and players in crucial moments this season, but that cannot be an alibi. To be clear, we have to do better,” said Inzaghi.

“Now we have 10 finals, plus the second leg of the Coppa Italia, so you have to try to recover your energy and do as well as we can.”

Currently, Inter are in third place in the Serie A standings with 59 points from 28 matches, one point behind Napoli in second place and four points from AC Milan at the top. (Ant/OL-1)
