PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) also supports the Indonesian government’s plan to accelerate vehicle electrification. This is another reason Isuzu participates in the Smart Mobility-Joint Project program which was initiated with Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Toyota and Fuso.
Even Isuzu ensures that it is ready to be able to produce electric trucks in Indonesia, although there are several things that must be considered. As stated by the President Director of PT. Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, Jap Ernando Demily.
“Isuzu’s hope is that this is part of the ecosystem, we know that the Indonesian government is focused on introducing electric vehicles. By joining this project, we hope that we can jointly provide information (about the advantages of electric vehicles), together with a commitment to support what is the government’s plan,” said Ernando in Bali.

Ernando explained that at this joint event, Isuzu really hopes to get feedback or information from the public.
“We at Isuzu with this event, we can get feedback, what about what are the needs of consumers? Once again I believe, what I catch apart from supporting the government, we want to know how the needs of consumers are, how is the readiness of the Indonesian people, how is infrastructure?” In Indonesia, of course, we will take advantage of various sources, either from the media or associations,” said Ernando.
“I hope there will be enough information that we can convey to the principal, so that one day we can introduce an EV that is suitable for Indonesia’s needs. Production in Indonesia? electricity) we are ready, we will definitely bring EVs to Indonesia,” Ernando explained.
For the record Isuzu has shown their electric truck which is called the Isuzu Elf EV, this electric truck is claimed to be presented to make human life better. This Isuzu electric truck will have a fairly large lithium ion battery, with 4×2 drive along with front independent suspension and leaf suspension rear suspension, the Isuzu Elf EV’s mileage is said to be able to run up to 100 km on a single charge.
