It’s a relief, it turns out that Ioniq 5 is longer than the Palisade!

Jakarta

The Hyundai Ioniq looks smaller than the Hyundai Palisade’s big SUV. But the interior of the Ioniq 5 still offers spaciousness, even though its wheelbase beats the size of the Hyundai Palisade.

Hyundai Motor Indonesia’s Product Expert, Bonar Pakpahan, explained that the Ioniq 5 has the longest wheelbase compared to the EV and SUV product lines from Hyundai, which were their predecessors in Indonesia. The wheelbase of the Ioniq 5 is known to be 3,000 mm.

“This car has a very large wheelbase, we compare it with its own brother, (wheelbase) Kona EV 2,600 mm, Ioniq EV 2,700 mm, Santa Fe 2,765 mm, even the Palisade as our largest Flagship SUV whose dimensions are large (2,900 mm) and the inside is already spacious. I still lose the wheelbase with the Ioniq 5,” said Bonar at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday (1/4/2022).

The Palisade’s wheelbase isn’t that long, obviously resulting in the perfection of legroom. Yes, the Iomiq 5’s cabin is combined with a flat floor where the battery is stored, fully adjustable and reclined front seats, allowing more freedom of movement in the car.

The center console can be shifted forward or backward by 140 mm. Likewise the seat arrangement, the rear alone can be advanced up to 135 mm.

In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also has a Premium Relaxation Seat, which is a feature that will adjust the seat cushion position, seat back angle, and leg support.

With a large wheelbase, automatic Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a trunk with a capacity of 527 liters to 1,567 liters. Not to mention the small trunk in front with a capacity of 57 liters.

Dimensionally, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a length of 4,365 mm, a width of 1,890 mm and a height of 1,605 mm. It is bigger than the Ioniq, which measures 4,470 mm in length x 1,820 mm in width x 1,475 mm in height.

The spaciousness and openness of the Ioniq 5’s cabin space will be increasingly felt with the Vision Roof, which is a large glass panel that provides a wide view of the sky for passengers in the front row to the rear row. This feature is only available on the Signature trim.

One of the reasons for the spaciousness of the Ioniq 5 is that it stands on the E-GMP platform. This base maximizes interior space through a long wheelbase, short front and rear overhangs, and a slim cockpit module. The battery pack is embedded under the flat floor of the cabin so as to provide more legroom.

There are four trims offered on the Ioniq 5, namely Prime: Standard Range and Long Range, Signature: Standard Range and Long Range. This car can already be ordered although the price has not been released.
