Johan Farizi Scores Two Goals in Second Half, Arema Draws Borneo FC

DWIGOL Johan Ahmad Farizi saved Arema FC from defeat against Borneo FC in the match week 32 of Liga 1 2021/2022, which took place at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday (20/3) night

Arema FC, who had conceded two goals in the first half, was able to equalize in the second half through two goals from the team captain so the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

In the first half, both teams immediately presented an open game by attacking each other but could not break the deadlock for 30 minutes of the game running.

The first goal was finally created for Borneo FC in the 32nd minute through Bustos who received a pull bait from Terens Puhiri which the Arema FC goalkeeper Adilson Maringa was unable to anticipate, making the score 1-0.

It didn’t take long, Borneo FC doubled their advantage in the 38th minute through Wawan Febrianto who successfully took advantage of Kei Hirose’s cross and made the position 2-0.

Conceding two goals, Arema FC tried to catch up by sending several attacks to the Borneo FC defense, but to no avail until the first half ended.

In the second half, Arema FC immediately appeared to press Borneo FC’s defense to catch up to create the first opportunity through Dendi Santoso in the 48th minute, but did not produce a goal.

Finally, Arema FC was able to rip the Borneo FC goal in the 52nd minute through Johan Farizi’s header welcoming a free kick from Rizky Dwi and making it 1-2.

Although under pressure, Borneo FC can still threaten Arema FC’s defense several times through counter-attack schemes, but still cannot increase the number of goals.

In the 74th minute, Arema FC managed to score a second goal through Johan Farizi who again grabbed a pass from a corner kick with a header that Borneo goalkeeper Angga Saputro couldn’t hold and made the position 2-2.

The score was equally strong, making the match even more fierce with both teams aggressively attacking each other, but still unable to increase the number of goals so the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

With these results, both teams had to settle for sharing points, Arema FC remained in 5th place in the 2021/2022 Liga 1 standings with 59 points, while Borneo FC remained in 6th place with 49 points. (Ant/OL-1)
