JUVENTUS are monitoring the situation of Atalanta centre-forward Luis Muriel, who is reportedly looking to leave in the summer transfer window.
The reason is, Muriel has no desire to extend his contract at Atalanta which will expire in the summer of 2024.
The Colombian’s attitude comes after the reduced minutes he has had this season with Atalanta. As a result, Juventus continues to monitor the situation.
Previously Muriel had signed a new contract extension with a duration of one year and on the other hand. Atalanta are trying to re-extend his contract which has less than two years remaining.
Last summer, Inter Milan, AS Roma and Juventus were interested in signing Muriel, but the three Italian League giants were reluctant to redeem the 15 million euros (approximately Rp228 billion) pegged by Atalanta.
Juventus are still interested in Muriel and are ready to re-bid and negotiate with Atalanta for the 31-year-old player.
Last season, Muriel became an important part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta squad, making 39 appearances with 14 goals and 10 assists from a total of 1,543 minutes played in various competitions.
Unlike last season, this season the player who was born on April 16, 1991, has only made 8 appearances with one goal and two assists from a total of 431 minutes played in the Italian League. (OL-8)
