Konate Brings Persija Libas Tira Persikabo 4-0

TWO goals from attacking midfielder from Mali, Makan Konate, brought Persija to beat Tira Persikabo 4-0 in the Indonesian League 1 continued match at Kompyang Sujana Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday (13/3).

Apart from Konate, Irfan Jauhari and Braif Fatari also listed names on the scoreboard and this victory was Persija’s first in the last five matches.

Persija’s coach has fielded young players from the start, such as Rangga Widiansyah (19 years old) and Dony Tri Pamungkas (17 years old).

There was no Marko Simic in the first eleven players as in the previous two games, while Marco Motta was back on the starting list.

Tira Persikabo itself was not reinforced by mainstay players in the attacking sector, namely Aleksandar Rakic, Ciro Alves and Muhammad Dimas Drajad who were absent due to accumulation of yellow cards. Instead, coach Tira Persikabo Liestiadi fielded Hanis Saghara and Hendra Bayauw.

With this composition, Persija appeared to bite from the start.

As a result, in the 22nd minute, Irfan Jauhari, who played as a center forward, scored his fourth goal in Liga 1 this season after using Rangga Widiansyah’s pass which goalkeeper Syahrul Trisna had wrongly anticipated.

The Kemayoran Tigers continued to press after that, but the 1-0 score lasted until the break.

After halftime, Persija increased the tension of the match with his attacks.

This made defender Tira Persikabo make a mistake by touching the ball in the forbidden box. Makan Konate executed a perfect penalty in the 62nd minute and doubled the Kemayoran Tigers’ advantage.

Five minutes later, Konate scored again, this time using Taufik Hidayat’s cross. The goal became the sixth for Makan Konate for Persija, only from 11 matches.

Persija closed the match with a 4-0 win after midfielder Braif Fatari scored the ball into Tira Persikabo’s goal after receiving an assist from Riko Simanjuntak.

This victory keeps Persija in seventh place in the Liga 1 standings with a collection of 41 points from 30 matches.

Meanwhile, Tira Persikabo is stuck in 12th position with 34 points from 31 matches. The defeat of Persija ensured that Laskar Padjadjaran had not survived the threat of relegation. (OL-8)
