Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has a dream when he finishes his career in Europe. The Argentine wants to return to his first professional club Racing Club Argentina.
Indeed, there is still a long way to go for the Argentina international to discuss the final phase of his career. Moreover, he is now only 25 years old.
Lautaro has continued to shine in Italy since joining from Racing in 2018, scoring 79 goals in 194 appearances for Serie A giants Inter and has never hidden his desire to return to his hometown at some point.
However, the forward has expressed his dream of being able to return to strengthening his boyhood club. “It would be a dream for me, to go back there. I have a lot of great memories on the pitch there, and of the people who love me,” he explained.
“I can’t say when I will return to Racing. But for sure I want to return to Argentina and play for them again one day,” he added.
Lautaro shone through Racing’s youth team and made 60 appearances for the senior side, with his impressive 27 goals netting him attracting the attention of several European sides before his move to Inter Milan.
Inter tied the Argentina international, who will seek to be part of his country’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month, on a new contract in October last year that will keep him at the Giuseppe Meazza until at least the summer of 2026. (Goal/OL-15)
