Leaving Milan, Kessie Moves to Barcelona End of Season

BARCELONA have reportedly completed the transfer of AC midfielder from Ivory Coast Milan Franck Kessie, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is quoted as saying by Marca on Tuesday (22/3).

The 25-year-old will join Barca on a free transfer after his contract expires at the end of this season.

Kessie has signed a four-year contract with the Blaugrana and receives a salary of 6.5 million euros (Rp 102 billion) per year plus extras.

Xavi Hernandez is desperate to sign Kessie and strengthen his midfield squad which is already filled with Sergio Busquets, Frankie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi and Nico Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Riqui Puig is expected to leave Camp Nou due to lack of playing time.

Kessie was born in Ouragahio, Ivory Coast, and played in Europe in 2014 when he joined Atalanta. He then continued his career at AC Milan on loan in 2017 before being made permanent in 2019.

Kessie has played 214 games for Milan scoring 36 goals and 16 assists. The midfielder also has 52 caps for the senior national team and scored five goals. (OL-8)
