LIB Ensures that the Presidential Cup Venue in Bandung is Moved

The 2022 Presidential Cup Group C match in Bandung is confirmed to be moved and held without the presence of spectators.

The chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) for the 2022 Presidential Cup, who is also the Managing Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita, said that the rest of the matches were moved from the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium to the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.

“It has been decided to move to SJH (Si Starling Harupat Stadium) and without spectators,” explained Akhmad Hadian Lukita when confirmed, Monday (20/6).

For the preliminary matches held in other cities, he continued, the matches would still be held with spectators, accompanied by order and security. The decision to move the match in Bandung was in line with the recommendation from the West Java Regional Police.

The police recommended changes in the aftermath of the deaths of two supporters at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Friday (17/6). Regarding the investigation by the police, Akhmad stated that his party was still waiting.

“The police are still investigating it,” he added.

The West Java Police Chief through a letter of recommendation numbered B/Rek-3420/VI/YAN.2.1/2022/DIT IK, which was signed by the Director of Intelligence and Security Kombes Pol Ruslan Ependi, asked for the match to be moved from the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium to the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.

“Along with this, recommendations are made for the implementation of the preliminary round match activities in the context of the 2022-2023 Pre-Season Tournament with the title of the President’s Cup, which will be held without spectators at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium,” the letter read.

Based on the recommendation letter, the Group C match between Bali United and Persebaya Surabaya on Monday (20/6) night at 20.30 WIB will take place at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.

The match between Bhayangkara FC and host Persib Bandung will also take place at Si Jalak Harupat on Tuesday (21/6) night.

Commissioner of PT Persib Bandung with dignity Umuh Muchtar as the person in charge, was asked to ensure order and security of the match. (OL-11)
