Portugal’s Renato Sanches has been ruled out of Lille’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Chelsea with a thigh injury. This was revealed by Lille, Saturday (12/3) WIB.
The midfielder had to be withdrawn from the field during Lille’s 0-0 draw against Saint-Etienne in the Ligue 1 match, Saturday (12/3) early morning WIB.
Sanches’ absence is a major blow for the Ligue 1 champions after they lost 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge last month.

Lille said Sanches was confirmed to be out for three weeks so he would also miss the Portugal national team in the World Cup qualifying playoff against Turkey on March 24.
The winner of the match between Portugal and Turkey will face the winner of the match between Italy and north Macedonia, five days later, for a ticket to Qatar. (AFP/OL-1)
