LEICESTER City secure the three points after beating Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League match week 30 at the King Power Stadium, Sunday (20/3)
Timothy Castagne and James Madisson scored two goals for the home team. Brentford reduced the gap through Youane Wissa’s goal.
This victory brought Leicester up to 10th place, with 36 points from 27 matches. While Brentford remains in 15th position, with 30 points.
Leicester opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Harvey Barnes fed Timothy Castagne before curling a shot in front of the penalty area that nestled into the top corner of David Raya’s goal. Score 1-0 to the home team.
The Foxes managed to increase their advantage in the 33rd minute. Madisson was dropped by Jensen in a dangerous position in front of the penalty box.
The England midfielder managed to score a goal after his free kick into the top corner of the goal could not be stopped by Raya. The host’s 2-0 advantage closed the first half.
Leicester almost scored their third goal in the second half, in the 53rd minute to be exact. Iheanacho made individual action and went past two players before going head-to-head with Raya.
However, his shot still bounced high from the Brentford goal.
Schmeichel made a save in the 60th minute. The Danish national team goalkeeper this time stopped Mbuemo’s header after welcoming Toney’s cross.
Brentford finally reduced the gap in the 85th minute. Mbeumo slotted the ball into Wissa before he stabbed into his right and unleashed a shot that Schmeichel couldn’t save. The score becomes 2-1.
Brentford tried to equalize, but they failed to score a second. Leicester won the game by a score of 2-1 and secured the three points. (OL-8)
