Menpora Amali Asks PSAI National Team Players to Concentrate

Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali asked the players of the Indonesian Amputation Football Association (PSAI) national team to concentrate fully ahead of the 2022 Amputation Football World Cup. This is so that the Garuda squad can make achievements.

“The players just concentrate on training. I ask you to concentrate properly. Let us think about other matters,” said Menpora Amali when receiving the arrival of the PSAI National Team at the Wisma Kemenpora, Jakarta, Thursday (17/3).

Menpora Amali also challenged the PSAI national team to be able to talk a lot at the 2022 Amputation Football World Cup in Turkey. They were asked to pass the preliminary round and this target must be pursued.

“Later at the World Cup, don’t just go to the group stage and then fall. That’s why I ask for concentration, practice seriously. Take care of your health, hopefully you can achieve,” explained Menpora Amali.

PSAI General Chair Yudhi Yahya responded to this. He believes the target can be achieved. In fact, he wants the PSAI national team to be in the top 10 at the World Cup.

“We have already won the World Cup ticket. This is history for us. We will continue to train. The target can be the top ten. We will mature five months before the World Cup. Obviously we will take advantage of this momentum,” he said.

Meanwhile, PSAI National Team Head Coach Muhammad Syafei revealed his squad’s struggles. According to him, it is not easy to qualify for the World Cup.

“Alhamdulillah, the target was achieved. This is in accordance with the mandate and responsibility in the field. We in the coaching team prepare the players as well as possible, so that we can win against Bangladesh and Malaysia. Then, we lost experience with Japan,” he said.

“Obviously we will continue to finalize the preparations. Hopefully we can continue our achievements in the World Cup,” added Syafei. (RO/OL-09)
