AS Roma are reportedly planning to repatriate midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Quoted from football-italy, Monday (28/3) AS Roma has no intention of extending or permanent the services of Maitland-Niles after borrowing him from Arsenal in the transfer market last winter.
The English player was brought in by AS Roma for a fee of 500 thousand euros, or around Rp. 7.8 billion. But it did not make a big impact after almost three months playing in the Italian capital.
In the last four matches of AS Roma in the Italian League, Maitland-Niles has only been on the bench and has not been introduced by coach Jose Mourinho.
Maitland-Niles last played for AS Roma when they played in the second leg of the last 16 of the Conference League when Vitesse and the team were doing a squad rotation.
Media in Italy believe AS Roma will not return the 24-year-old at the end of the season and Maitland-Niles is expected to be released by Arsenal again.
Premier League club Everton are reportedly ready to try to sign Maitland-Niles in the summer after failing to land the player last year for a fee of 12 million euros.
During his time with AS Roma, Maitland-Niles has played 9 matches in various competitions and recorded 544 minutes of playing. (OL-8)
