Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiyadi said, according to the direction of Jokowi and the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, the basis of transportation at IKN will be green mobility or environmentally friendly mobility.

According to Budi, for autonomous vehicles, of course, there must be a revision of Law no. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Because, autonomous vehicles can move without a driver.
“Yeah, just don’t use the driver. Maybe later there will be a guided lane. Maybe (autonomous vehicles for) public transportation later,” said Budi.
Meanwhile, Jokowi also emphasized that users of gasoline and diesel cars are definitely not allowed to roam the new capital city of Indonesia. In addition, IKN Nusantara prioritizes the mobility of pedestrians. The leading modes of transportation are bicycles and environmentally friendly public transportation.
“So, those who like to walk, please move to the new capital city, those who like cycling, want to be healthy, also move to the new capital.
