PERSELA Lamongan announced that it had reached an agreement with Fakhri Husaini regarding the termination of his tenure as team coach. This was announced by Laskar Joko Tingkir through a photo upload on the club’s Instagram page, Wednesday (28/9).
Thus, the ex-Indonesia U-16 coach’s tenure in Lamongan ended briefly. Currently, Persela is at the bottom of the League 2 Middle Group for the 2022-2023 season. “Persela Lamongan and coach Fakhri have agreed to end the collaboration sooner this season,” wrote Persela’s Instagram account.
“We thank him for his hard work so far, and we always wish him success in his future career,” the statement added.
Under Fakhri’s coaching, Persela stumbled with only one win and two draws from six matches while the other three matches ended in defeat.
Through his Instagram account, Fakhri admitted that he was no longer the coach of Persela. “Me and Persela agreed to end our cooperative relationship sooner,” wrote Fakhri through his Instagram page.
”To the manager and management, assistant coaches, staff and all the players, thank you for your support and cooperation so far. I hope this friendship will last. Always success for Persela Lamongan,” added Fakhri.
Persela became the fourth club that Fakhri had handled in his career. He had handled Bontang FC before managing the Indonesian age groups ranging from U-14, U-16 and U-19. Two other clubs from Kalimantan, Persiba Balikpapan and Borneo FC, have also used the services of the 57-year-old coach. (Goal/OL-15)
