Persib coach: Congratulations Bali United

Persib TRAINER, Robert Alberts, congratulated Bali United for winning Liga 1 2021/2022. Robert said that the title obtained by Serdadu Tridatu was given by Persib, who failed to win over Persik Kediri, Friday (25/3) night.

“First, congratulations to Bali United. They won the league, after we gave it a draw. Of course we still have hope, if they win. However, that didn’t happen. Congratulations to Bali United,” said Robert in a virtual press conference after the match.

Maung Bandung team only won a 0-0 draw in that match. In fact, Persib must win from Persik while waiting for Bali United to slip in the remaining two matches if they want to win the title this season.

This draw means that Persib will no longer be able to catch Bali United’s points. Persib’s collection of 68 points will not be enough to shift Serdadu Tridatu who collected 72 points with one game remaining.

“Before the game, I told the players this is an opportunity to keep the hopes of chasing the title, if we win. We need mentality and character. We have to show it,” he said.

However, according to him, the Maung Bandung squad, playing can not be separated. The players looked nervous throughout the game.

“Even though we have anticipated it. We provide information to the players about how to play Peach. They move from the feet and then go straight ahead, waiting for the ball to reborn,” said Robert.

Despite failing to win, Persib is certain to win a ticket to qualify for the Asian club event, the AFC Cup in the 2023-2024 season. Persib still has one last match of Liga 1 against Barito Putera on Thursday (31/3).

“We’ve secured a ticket to the AFC Cup. Because Persib hasn’t played in the competition for the past few years and we can play there again,” he concluded. (OL-8)
