Persib Bandung TRAINER Robert Rene Alberts is determined to bring his team to close the 2021/2022 Liga 1 competition, against Barigo Putera, at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Thursday (31/3) with a win.
The Blue Prince has been confirmed as the runner-up in Liga 1 this season, although there is still one game left.
“We are looking forward to the last game to be completed in a good way after going through a tiring period,” said Robert in the club’s official website, Monday (28/3).
Regarding Persib’s point acquisition, Robert said he was happy because the productivity of the Maung Bandung team had progressed.
He said the team’s current 68 points had broken the most points in the 2008/2009 Indonesian Super League and could still increase in the final match of the season.
“In the last four seasons if you can get 68 points then you become champion. But this season is not a normal season and we can still add points (against Barito Putera),” said the Dutch coach.
Meanwhile, Persib will lose two of its mainstay players, Mohammed Rashid and Achmad Jufriyanto, who is familiarly called Jupe, in the match against Barito Putera, 31 March.
Rashid and Jupe were forced to miss out due to the accumulation of yellow cards, which were 5 and 7 yellow cards respectively, after getting them again in the match against Persik Kediri at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, last Friday.
Jupe will serve a second ban this season, while Rashid will serve his third this season with Persib. (OL-8)
