Persija coach Sudirman hopes that winger Irfan Jauhari will be made permanent after showing good performances throughout his loan spell in the second round of the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1.
“Personally, I want Irfan to stay in this team. However, I can’t say for sure what the future will be,” Sudirman said at a virtual press conference, Monday (21/3).
According to the 52-year-old tactician, Irfan has good abilities as a footballer with attacking instincts.
The 21-year-old footballer is also considered to have a good goal-scoring instinct and is capable of controlling the ball.
“Irfan is strong on the ball and has a good goal feeling. Wherever he is, I wish him success,” said Sudirman.
Irfan Jauhari was brought in by Persija from the 2021 Liga 2 champion team, Persis Solo, on loan.
During his uniform with Persija, the former U-19 national team player has scored five goals from 13 appearances in Liga 1 this season.
Most recently, Monday (21/3), Irfan scored one goal when Persija beat PSM with a score of 3-1 in a match held at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, Bali.
Apart from Irfan, Persija’s goals were made by Makan Konate and Ikhwan Ciptady. While PSM incised the score via Yakob Sayuri’s kick.
The victory made Persija move up to seventh position in the Indonesian Liga 1 standings this season with a collection of 44 points from 32 matches.
Meanwhile, PSM is stuck in 13th place after collecting 35 points from 32 matches. This situation has not made PSM safe from the threat of degradation. (OL-8)
