MAURICIO Pochettino does not seem to want to accept Manchester United’s proposal to sit in the chair of the Premier League club’s coach. The reason is, the Argentine coach who is now in charge of PSG feels disappointed and humiliated by the Red Devils.
The disappointment was triggered by the attitude of Manchester United who interviewed him via Zoom. Meanwhile, another candidate, Erik ten Hag, underwent a face-to-face interview with the Red Devils. Pochettino felt things were not going well when he and Manchester United had a virtual interview.
Pochettino and ten Hag are said to be strong candidates for the next permanent coach of the Red Devils as Ralf Rangnick’s tenure ends at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
According to reports from various sources, Pochettino is actually not Man United’s main choice to fill the seat that will be left by Rangnick. The Old Trafford camp has made the ten Hag a priority target for the upcoming new season.
Meanwhile, PSG also recently complained about an open approach to Pochettino. He briefly spoke about the possibility of a big spend at Old Traffrod if he became manager given the need for a massive squad overhaul, including the sale of some old players. However, ten Hag is believed to be announced as Man United’s new head coach next week. (Goal/OL-15)
