PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan said the U-23 National Team TC to South Korea was a request from coach Shin Tae-yong. After that, they will go directly to Vietnam to face the SEA Games which will be held on 12-23 May 2022.

“Later they (U-23 National Team) will go to South Korea as well, after this (U-19 National Team). Maybe April will go there. Lastly, Shin Tae Yong asked for that, so he can see it directly, “said Iriawan , Monday (14/3).

“TC is here (Jakarta) first. Later, we will go to South Korea because of Shin Tae-yong’s request to be effective and flexible. So, there is no need to go back and forth,” he added.

So far, his party has not got a name that will fill the U-23 national team squad. Iriawan said that it was only Marc Klok who was confirmed to fill the senior player slot for the U-23 National Team at the SEA Games. For the rest of the other senior players, he was waiting for a request from Shin Tae Yong.

Referring to the 2021 SEA Games regulations, each team is entitled to play three senior players. “Later, we are waiting for Shin to convey the others. What is clear, yesterday he asked for Marc Klok,” closed Iriawan. (OL-11)
