Price Equivalent to HR-V Turbo, New Honda Civic e:HEV Released in Thailand


Honda launched the New Honda Civic e:HEV for the Thai market on Thursday (24/3/22). Comes with the e:HEV appendage, making this new Honda sedan equipped with an electrification device, namely a full hybrid powertrain.

“This time we launched the New Honda Civic e:HEV for the first time in the world and in Thailand. Where, this car will take the compact car market to the next level and is ready to provide a more powerful and more efficient experience thanks to the full hybrid e:HEV powertrain. But still carrying the sporty DNA of the Civic,” said Noriyuki Takakura, Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of Honda Automobile Thailand through his official statement.

This new Honda Civic e:HEC carries a hybrid runway that combines a DOHC fossil fuel engine, inline 4 cylinder, 2,000 cc Atkinson-Cycle direct injection with a battery-powered electric motor.

The electric motor that Honda has implanted in this new Civic comes with Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) technology. Where, this technology was previously also present in the Accord Hybrid. This electric motor can transmit power to the front wheels with an output of 184 PS or 135 kW and 315 Nm of torque.

There are three driving modes in the New Civic e:HEV, namely ECON Mode, Normal Mode, and Sport Mode.

In addition, the New Civic e:HEV also comes with advanced radar-based technology called Honda with SENSING. Where, this car is so able to take precautions so that the car is not hit back and forth, to keep the car in the lane or keep it running safely.

The Honda SENSING in the New Civic e:HEV includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CBMS), Variable Cruise Control or adaptive cruise control, Road Departure Mitigatio System, Auto High-Beam, to the Lead Car Departure Notification System.

In general, the design of the Honda Civic e: HEV still carries the same design as the latest generation Civic. However, to strengthen the impression of electrification, Honda gives a blue accent to the upright H logo installed on this car.

In addition, the aura of the cabin still looks sophisticated like the latest generation Civic. The cockpit comes with a sleek and modern design. Not to forget, the current features are also present in this car, such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto wireless connections, wireless charging, and Honda Smart Key Card model keys.

The new Honda will sell the New Civic e:HEV in June 2022 with two versions, namely the New Civic e:HEV EL+. and the New Civic e:HEV RS. For the price, the New Civic e:HEV EL+ is priced starting at 1,150,000 baht or equivalent to Rp. 492.4 million. Meanwhile, the price of the New Civic e: HEV RS starts from 1,270,000 baht or equivalent to Rp. 543.8 million.

With a tag that is similar to Honda’s new car in the country. As is known, the All New HR-V Turbo has just launched in Indonesia. This Compact SUV is priced at IDR 499.9 million (OTR with first ownership status).
