PSSI CHAIRMAN Mochamad Iriawan said the acceleration of the implementation of the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) for the sake of the competition in Indonesia considering that many parties depend on their lives from matches in stadiums.
“I just want the competition to run. With the competition stopped, the glory of football will be lost,” said the man who is fondly called Iwan Bule in an official statement received by the media in Jakarta, today.
Iwan also dismissed the accusations of a number of parties who had considered him running away from responsibility for the Kanjuruhan tragedy which had claimed hundreds of lives. He emphasized that nothing crossed his mind to be indifferent to witnessing the tragedy.
Furthermore, Iwan welcomes the mechanism to speed up the outbreak because the decision is the result of a meeting with all PSSI Exco members.

“We agreed to propose to FIFA to speed up the congress and KLB to respond to the TGIPF recommendation with the aim that football competitions in Indonesia could be allowed to be held again. In addition, we did it because of requests from our members who have votes (voters),” he added.
He hopes that the acceleration process for this outbreak can also be accommodated by FIFA, which is the parent organization of PSSI.
“Today, the plan is to send the KLB acceleration letter to FIFA. So let’s wait and be patient. I also hope that our football grief will end soon and the competition can be resumed,” said this retired three-star police general.
