BARCELONA has officially signed a sponsorship deal with Swedish audio streaming platform Spotify. This was revealed by the La Liga club in an official statement, Wednesday (16/3).
The Spotify name will adorn the front of Barcelona’s jersey, for both their men’s and women’s teams, for four years starting in the 2022/23 season.
The company will also be the first brand to sponsor the club’s stadium, which will be renamed Spotify Camp Nou.

“The vision of this partnership is to create a new platform to help artists interact with the global community of FC Barcelona fans,” the club said in a statement.
Neither Barcelona nor Spotify have confirmed the financial details of the deal, but according to Catalan radio station Rac1, the deal is worth 280 million euros.
Japanese retailer Rakuten has been the main sponsor of the men’s team since 2017 while US equipment maker Stanley Black & Decker has been the official jersey sponsor of the women’s team since 2018. (Ant/OL-1)
