Stay away from the relegation zone, Persikabo Aims for Victory over Persija

Persikabo TRAINER Liestiadi said that his squad wants to beat Persija in the match in Bali, Sunday (13/3), so that they survive the possibility of being relegated from the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1.

“Our motivation is how to get full points and survive potential relegation,” said Liestiadi in a virtual press conference, Saturday (12/3).

Tira Persikabo is currently in 12th place in the Liga 1 standings this season after collecting 34 points from 30 matches.

If they are able to beat Persija, the team’s collection of points nicknamed Laskar Padjadjaran will be 37 and that will not be surpassed by the teams currently in the relegation area even if they win all remaining matches in Liga 1.

Even so, Tira Persikabo’s strength is a bit limp because the mainstay players in the attacking sector, namely Aleksandar Rakic, Ciro Alves and Muhammad Dimas Drajad will be absent from the match due to accumulation of yellow cards.

The situation was a blow for Tira Persikabo because the combination of the three players had produced 29 goals in Liga 1. Ciro Alves scored 17 goals, Rakic made three goals and Dimas scored nine goals.

“We, the coaching team, have to work hard to formulate a strategy because it is difficult to replace this attacker. However, we believe that whoever is sent as a replacement will definitely give their best,” said Liestiadi.

Meanwhile, Tira Persikabo defender Gilang Ginarsa believes his squad’s coaching team can find answers to the lack of players in attack.

Gilang also ensured that all of the Laskar Padjadjaran players were in a combat-ready condition and ready to be deployed.

“All the players are in good health. We also hope for support from the fans so that they can really secure a position in Liga 1,” said the 33-year-old footballer.

The Tira Persikabo match against Persija will be held at Kompyang Stadium, Sujana, Denpasar, Bali, on Sunday (13/3), starting at 20.45 WIB.

Persija is currently in seventh position in the 2021-2022 Indonesian Liga 1 standings with a collection of 38 points from 29 matches. (OL-8)
