Once the cover was off, removing the bolts with vise grips was fairly easy, as the real freeze was the corrosion between the cover and the bolt shanks and not the threads in the block. The hole threads are stripped not the actual bolt.

I.e the stripped out alu threads from the head. Cuz the 3 long bolts go thru the valve cover, thru the head, and are threaded into the cylinder to help keep the head gasket squished outside of the cam chain area, might leak oil, but has nothing to do with sealing your combustion chamber.

Keep Using The Stud As A Fastener Into The Soft Aluminum Head Will Soon Lead To This Problem.

Pull the two bolts that secure the cam retainer to the engine, remove the cam retainer and repair the stripped bolt hole. Once you know which bolt hole you are repairing, take a clean rag, or cloth and cover the cylinder head only exposing the hole you are repairing. Though not ideal, it was far better(imo) than needing to pull the engine to drill out the bolts.
