The 2022 Eid holidays and leave are up to 10 days, apparently this is the reason

The government has implemented joint leave for the Eid al-Fitr holiday which will take place on April 29 – May 6, 2022, and surely we also agree that this joint leave is quite long. But detikers do not know why the government gave long leave. It turns out that this longer collective leave is implemented so that residents are more comfortable going home to their hometowns.

As stated by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in the outspoken program. Budi explained that if the homecoming trip was not divided up, the roads could become stuck due to the very high volume of vehicles.

“So we are the Ministry of transportation, Korlantas representing the Police, BPJT representing PU, we hold meetings to simulate what will happen, it has been agreed that we will use one way Contraflow traffic engineering, prohibiting three-axis vehicles and finally odd-even, now this instrument will be used (to break down congestion),” said Budi.

“Well, we are simulating, simulating it with assumptions. First, we assume an increase of 40% (homecomers). 40% is used in one way only, 40% is used in odd-even ways, 40% is used in contraflow. That’s assuming 40%, it’s still safe. But as soon as we enter 60%, it fails, it’s stuck, the VCR exceeds one,” Budi added.

Budi Karya again explained that when stuck or the VCR exceeds number one, it can be ascertained that the car is stuck.

“The VCR is an index where traffic is not running. So, because of that, we researched it and after that we stated that it was over 60% to become stunted. What does that mean, if there is a homecoming Euphoria, which is usually a 40% increase? to 60%, then the three days 28, 29, 30 are stuck. Even though all instruments are used contra flow, odd-even, etc., “said Budi further.

“So maybe going to Semarang could be 14 hours, it could be 15 hours and so on. So, because of that, Mr. President, the discussion gave directions, so that some go home earlier on the 25th, 26th, 27th so that what was previously, say, could reach 60%, this can be reduced ,” continued Budi.

Budi added that collective leave was also an important point for people to be able to return to their hometowns.

“That’s what we discussed until the leave, right if the mandatory leave has been made, April 29 to May 6, so on the 8th you can go home. Later, before April 27, people can ask for leave. So all civil servants, the private sector can also after that There is even an idea what if the education minister provides online activities for children before and after, but this is still a discussion, maybe tomorrow it will be decided,” explained Budi.

“Well, this is how we have an intensive discussion, yesterday afternoon, the president formally stated that this could be moved forward,” said Budi.
