MotoGP Mandalika (Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia) was successfully held on March 18-20, 2022. The total number of spectators who attended the Mandalika Circuit was said to have reached more than 100 thousand people. The number of spectators was still less than the number of MotoGP spectators at the Sepang Circuit and Buriram Circuit.

According to renowned British journalist Simon Patterson, the total number of spectators at the Mandalika MotoGP reached more than 100 thousand spectators. It was the result of the accumulation of spectators from free practice sessions, qualifying, to racing (18-20/3).

In details, on Friday (18/3) the number of spectators reached 9,857 people, then on Saturday (19/3) the number of spectators reached 30,021 people, then on Sunday (20/3) where the Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP took place, the number of spectators reached 62,923 people. So in total, during the three days of the Mandalika MotoGP, the number of spectators reached 102,801 people.

Meanwhile, quoting from the explanation of the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) on its official website, the number of spectators for the Mandalika MotoGP on Sunday (20/3) was approximately 60 thousand.

Quoted from the page Crashthe number of MotoGP spectators at the Mandalika Circuit is still less than the average number of MotoGP spectators at the Sepang Circuit (Malaysia) and the Buriram Circuit, Thailand.

For the record, in 2019, the number of spectators at the Sepang Circuit reached a total of 170,778 people, with 103,850 spectators on race day. In the same season, Thailand registered a total of 226,655 spectators, with 95,000 of them on race day.

But this is of course still debatable, because the Mandalika MotoGP is held in the midst of a pandemic situation, where health protocols and travel conditions are still quite strict. While the Sepang MotoGP and Buriram MotoGP were held in normal situations before the pandemic.

Currently, the Mandalika Circuit itself is still under construction. If the circuit, which is located in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is 100% complete and the Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic is over, then the audience capacity can reach 188,000 spectators.
