For those of you who want to find peace, come to the Tibu Smpi waterfall. The place is quiet. Far from frenetic.
Tibu Smpi Waterfall is located in Banjar Kemetug Kanciana, Gunung Salak Village, Selemadeg Timur District, Tabanan, Bali. Perbekel or Head of Gunung Salak Village, I Wayan Wija said the Tibu Smpi waterfall is one of five waterfalls in Gunung Salak Village.
“This waterfall has been around for a long time. It’s not artificial,” said Wija, Sunday (24/7/2022).
You can enjoy the splashing water that falls from a height of approximately eight meters. The rest is the gurgling of the water which then flows. The journey to the location of this waterfall is also relaxing. Residential settlements that must be passed are also not too crowded.

Every now and then, look left and right, the eyes are refreshed with views of the terraced rice fields among the gardens belonging to local residents.
It’s a good idea to visit the location of the Tibu Smpi waterfall using a motorbike. Because to reach this waterfall, you have to go through a path from the main road in Gunung Salak Village.
Fortunately, this path has been compacted with two meters of concrete. So the car will be difficult to pass.
“At first there was no road at all. There was only an appropriate road. Hardening with concrete was only made in 2017,” said Wija.
He added that only the Tibu Smpi waterfall had been arranged by the village together with the traditional village officers and local subaks. In 2020, this alternative tourism object received a grant from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) worth Rp. 75 million.
The assistance was then realized to build supporting facilities, namely stairs from the motorbike parking lot to the location of the waterfall and toilets. In addition, in front of the parking lot there is now a coffee shop owned by local residents.
Although it has been arranged since 2017, visitors to the Tibu Smpi waterfall are not charged an entrance ticket. The application of the new plan entrance ticket will be imposed next year.
“Even then it is still in the socialization stage. Because we also have considerations to include this alternative tourist attraction of the Tibu Smpi waterfall into the tourist village package. But we are still discussing it with the BPD (Village Consultative Body),” said Wija.
This is also what makes the number of visits to the Tibu Smpi waterfall uncertain in the count.
“But it’s usually crowded on Saturdays and Sundays. Sometimes during the holidays. Many young people from our village and neighboring villages come here,” he concluded.
