Tube Amp Bias Probe. Tube amp doctor bias master test adapters octal spare probes (2 pieces = one pair) for use with the biasmaster system (cinch connector) Im a tinkerer, not a tech.
Bias Probes from www.eurotubes.com
Im a tinkerer, not a tech. As you turn up the bias and flow more current through the power tube the demand on the power. Imo changing power tubes and rebiasing shouldnt require pulling the chassis.

This probe is for all el34, 6l6, kt88, 6550 and similar tubes degree of difficulty: The eurotubes octal bias probe measures in dc milliamps and will work with any multimeter that can read in dc milliamps.

Unlike other bias probes on the market the pro one” bias probe is designed to allow you to play the amp while the probe is installed. You might want to ask a friend to do this, as your concentration and hands will be needed soon to adjust the bias pot in step 6.

While having more probes may speed things up some, you still have to install and remove a probe to all four tubes, and you can bias an amp within 10 minutes with one probe. Place the black probe onto the metal chassis of the amp and the red probe onto the bias point.

If your amp has fixed bias with a bias pot make small changes when adjusting the bias pot and measure the plate voltage and plate current again. This allows the meter to jump into the circuitry of the power amp without.

The et “pro one” bias probe is again unique and designed to allow you to play the amp while the probe is installed. Then again, my bench is also my office desk.

The bias master™ allows you to monitor the bias current safely and easily. The eurotubes octal bias probe measures in dc milliamps and will work with any multimeter that can read in dc milliamps.

V1 still reads 37.5, and v2 reads 11ma!!! It reads the current flowing from the cathode of the compatible tube types.

The bias master simply installs into the tube sockets of the amp and then the tubes are inserted into the probe sockets for any amp. You could also solder a 1 ohm resistor onto pin 1 of your tube sockets and read your bias that way.

A milliamp reading is more accurate because the screen current is not added to the plate current as with other probes that measure in millivolts. I swap the tubes, and its still v2 reading way too low.

It certainly seems to be loud enough for a 50 watter. This was using the bias probe, so i unhook the probe, and use the bias points on the back of the amp.

You might want to ask a friend to do this, as your concentration and hands will be needed soon to adjust the bias pot in step 6. Due to the wide variance in tubes (even of they same type and brand), tubes therefore need to have the bias adjusted every time you change them.

This is a good starting point, but then you need to find the valve manufacturers specifications from their data sheets. As long as you know where your opt center tap is, and youre able to get an alligator clip on pin 3 of your output tubes, you could bias using the transformer shunt method.

This was using the bias probe, so i unhook the probe, and use the bias points on the back of the amp. In this vid, ill show you how to make your own cheap, diy tube or valve guitar amplifier biasing probes for measuring plate current and plate voltage.

The probes each contain a 1 ohm resistor in the cathode lead, so they are measuring total cathode current (anode + screen grid). You plug the output valve into the bias probe plug and then plug the valve plus bias probe into the valve socket.

The Probes Each Contain A 1 Ohm Resistor In The Cathode Lead, So They Are Measuring Total Cathode Current (Anode + Screen Grid).
You plug the output valve into the bias probe plug and then plug the valve plus bias probe into the valve socket. See the featured picture for this article. Build your own bias adapter with our bias scout kit and youll save money every time you set the bias on your amp.
Place The Black Probe Onto The Metal Chassis Of The Amp And The Red Probe Onto The Bias Point.
The biasmaster ™ allows to monitor the bias current savely and easily. To operate this prove a voltage meter is needed, which is not included in the kit. The bias master™ allows you to monitor the bias current safely and easily.
You Might Want To Ask A Friend To Do This, As Your Concentration And Hands Will Be Needed Soon To Adjust The Bias Pot In Step 6.
Im a tinkerer, not a tech. This is the most accurate way of measuring bias current, and only takes a few minutes to properly bias an amp that has a fixed, adjustable bias supply. Then again, my bench is also my office desk.
The Bias Master Simply Installs Into The Tube Sockets Of The Amp And Then The Tubes Are Inserted Into The Probe Sockets For Any Amp.
Bias master™ system bm4 measures bias current of the vacuum tubes in your amp. As for the meter you linked, it still does not do plate voltage. You have to measure the voltage each time because the voltage and current will change with a bias pot change.
This Lets You Set And Evaluate All Reasonable Biasing Range Your Amp And.
