Tuchel says Conor Gallagher future is bright at Chelsea

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel believes his players who are currently on loan at Crystal Palace Conor Gallagher will be an important figure in the Blues’ body next season ahead of the two teams meeting in the FA Cup semifinals at Wembley Stadium, London, Sunday (17/4)

Quoted from the club’s official website on Sunday, Conor Gallagher is currently an important player at Crystal Palace. But he could not take part when facing Chelsea tonight because of the loan agreement that was established between the two clubs.

Tuchel said he believes Gallagher has the ability to be part of the Chelsea squad next season. But he wasn’t the only one who decided on that.

“We have to talk after the season is over with everyone and we need to see what Conor needs. We want to see what the situation is, what role we have for him and what he is fighting for because you need something to fight for,” said Tuchel.

“You have to have a role and a view about where you are, where you will be and what you will achieve. We have been clear to him, he has to be clear with us and we will work it out,” continued Tuchel.

While it may be premature to pinpoint exactly what role in that Chelsea team will be, Tuchel is confident that Gallagher can continue the extraordinary journey of his young career and become an influential figure at Stamford Bridge.

The German coach said it looked as though Gallagher had progressed tremendously when he became an important part of Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace side.

Tuchel said one of the factors for Crystal Palace’s success in the Premier League and FA Cup semi-finals was Gallagher’s presence in the squad.

“He was the pressure on the coach in pre-season, he had a lot of positive energy, so much energy in general and so much level of work to put into it that he can of course be a big help and a big influence.” (OL-8)
