U-19 National Team Prepares to Join the Tournament in France

The Indonesian U-19 Football Team is preparing to take part in the Toulon Cup tournament which will be held in France from May 29 to June 12.

Participation in the tournament is part of the preparations for the U-20 World Cup in 2023. A total of 22 selected players are dispatched for the Toulun Cup.

“We are going there, they know what I want, I know what I want, I know who we will face (in the Toulon Cup) and we will play against a strong team there,” said coach Dzenan Radoncic via PSSI statement.

The Toulon Cup is a tournament for the U-17 to U-23 level categories. In the tournament, Indonesia was in the same group as Mexico, Ghana and Venezuela.

The U-19 team previously held a trial against Persita Tangerang at the Madya Stadium, GBK Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/5).

Radoncic said that the development of the U-19 team is currently getting better in terms of tactics, passing, cooperation and cohesiveness.

In the test match against Persita, Radoncic assessed that the players played the game according to the instructions to do high pressing and control the opponent.

The current state of the players is said to be in good condition to take part in the tournament in France.

“I think yesterday we played the game we wanted and were good. I am very, very satisfied with that. The players followed the instructions given by the coach, they learned quickly,” he concluded. (OL-8)
