The Mitsubishi Triton double cabin pickup will drop in the Asian Cross Country Rally (AXCR) international rally event. This double cabin pickup is often a hard-working horse in the mining and plantation sectors.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) together with the Mitsubishi Ralliart team rely on the Mitsubishi Triton in the 2022 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) race. Triton series of road and off-road trials have been carried out.
These endurance tests were carried out on Triton cars prepared for AXCR racing with high loads and capacities, similar to those expected in rallying and focusing on the reliability and durability of the chassis and engine.

“Because the Triton has a strong chassis frame and excellent handling performance, we decided to reduce vehicle weight to a minimum for rally modifications while making the most of its original strength,” said Hiroshi Masuoka, Team Director at Mitsubishi Ralliart.
Being a rally car, the Mitsubishi Triton is considered a hard working horse. Because, this car is widely used in the mining and plantation sectors.
“People say this is a workhorse, a horse for hard work. So yes, it is indirectly used for rally to improve this image again, this is a tough vehicle,” said Irwan Kuncoro, Director of Sales and Marketing Division of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) .
According to him, Mitubishi Tridon dominates 60 percent in its segment. This pickup has also often been used in extreme fields of mining and plantations.
“So once again, of course, it will also strengthen its brand image again if it is proven that it is used in the rally,” he said.
Mitsubishi Triton currently carries the 4N15 (2.4L) MIVEC and 4D56 (2.5L) diesel engines with Euro 4 emission standard specifications. Both are equipped with Intercooler & Turbocharger Direct Injection Diesel features. The 4N15 diesel engine can produce a maximum power of up to 181 PS / 3,500 RPM, and a maximum torque of up to 430 Nm / 2,500 RPM.
Not only a more environmentally friendly engine, the Mitsubishi Triton also gets a refreshed appearance. The Mitsubishi Triton with Euro 4 engine specifications which is now marketed in Indonesia gets an exterior change by embedding black shades on the outside, with: Black Paint Radiator Grille, Black Paint Door Mirror, Black Paint Outer Door Handle, Black Paint Front Under Garnish, Black Paint Rear Gate Handle, (in Ultimate, Exceed and GLS variants), Black Paint Headlamp Garnish, Black Paint Side Step, and Black Paint Step Bumper (in Ultimate and Exceed variants.
As a hard-working horse, the Triton is said to have a large carrying capacity. The volume of the body is 1,520 mm x 1,470 mm x 475 mm for the double cabin version. As for the single cabin, the volume is even greater, namely 2,265 mm x 1,470 mm x 475 mm.
For off-road capabilities, the Triton has been equipped with the Super Select 4WD-II system. Using the selector dial, the driver can change the wheel drive mode from 2WD (2H) to 4WD (4H, 4HLc) at speeds up to 100 km/h. However, to enter 4LLC mode must be done in a stop condition.
There is also support for off-road features such as Hill Descent Control (activates the brakes automatically to help control speed when passing downhill) to off-road mode (better traction on off-road roads by selecting Gravel, Mud/Snow, or Rock modes). ).
