Jakarta

Valentino Rossi has been recognized as a living legend of MotoGP. The Italiano’s appeal is now immortalized through the installation of a giant helmet in Pesaro, Italy.

Since retiring, Rossi is not easily forgotten. Tributes to the 9-time world champion keep coming. The city of Pesaro, Italy this time provided the installation of a giant AGV helmet with graphics that reflect its trademark, Soleluna, or sun and moon. The Soleluna motif has been worn by Rossi in the last few years of racing.

The giant helmet was placed in the outer area of Piazza D’Annunzio. The replica helmet is a giant measuring 4 meters high, 6 meters wide, and weighs 400 kilograms. Interestingly, the visor is printed in hologram or 3D, so it looks like a real helmet that Valentino Rossi usually wears.

“Pesaro is the city of Valentino and this is a great tribute to his career. Valentino Rossi is a world legend, one of the strongest sportsmen of our time. We are proud to dedicate this helmet to him,” said Pesaro Mayor Matteo Ricci quoted from Gazzetta.it, Wednesday ( 27/7/2022).

Valentino Rossi, who grew up in Tavullia, said he was proud to be immortalized in an unusual way. Moreover, Pesaro is a second home for him, the city is where his parents, Graziano Rossi and Stefania Palma live.

“The helmet is really good, I really like it, it’s really an honor for me,” said Rossi.

“Pesaro is a very important city for me. My father was born here and my parents met in Pesaro. I grew up in Tavullia, but I came here many times in Pesaro, this is my second home,” added Rossi.

This 2021 MotoGP season will be the last season for Valentino Rossi’s career in Grand Prix. The Doctor has collected 115 wins, 199 podiums and 9 world champions over a quarter of a century in grand prix racing.

Even though he is no longer in MotoGP, Rossi hopes his fans will continue to support young riders.

“I am a motorcycle enthusiast, and I am happy because thanks to my career many people share the same passion.”

“People who follow motorcycles are getting closer and now we have young riders in MotoGP, racing for us. So I hope the fans continue to watch the races and support them,” added Rossi.
