Now they want over $150 to replace the whole tpms sensor at the tire shop! Anyone know thanks in advance! They contain a spring loaded valve core that seals itself using the air pressure inside of the tire.

When its at 12 oclock the hose comming from the bottom might exert some force on the valve stem bending it slightly every time you pump the tire. If there is enough liquid ballast in the tire to run/blow out when the valve stem is removed at 12 oclock.

Its a skill you definetly want to learn, and it is not hard. So i hadnt taken off the metal caps i had on my valve stems in awhile and went to check the tire pressure yesterday and the first one was stuck on.
Tire went flat in seconds, just glad i wasnt driving at the time of break off. He said that they will order the stem and the tpms sensor and get it fixed tomorrow.

I was checking the coolant levels / tyre pressures yesterday to make sure everything was fine and dandy, came to check the front tyre pressures and water had gathered inside the valve entrance, froze solid and cracked the threaded part of the inner stem which you attach the nozzle of the tyre inflator to. When i went to use a wrench to loosen it up the tip of the valve stem snapped off.

When i got to the right front, the valve stem didnt feel secure (it moved), when i tried to remove the valve cap, air started leaking out to the point that the tire was flat in less than 30 seconds. I know the monitor was working because it wa signalling when that tire got too low.
Later i had a stuck valve cap. Item 16 in this illustration.

If you then try to remove the cap, it will break off the stem and render the sensor inoperable (indicator will blink rapidly for that wheel and no way to reset it.) if it happens to one stem, you can bet the other 3 are at risk.
